Riding the Rails

One half of the SYC Sustainability Tour team (me- Gabriela) is now back home! I took a lot of pictures of the changing landscapes along the journey which I thought I would share. A camera just can’t capture the scale of the mountains or the beauty of the sunset on the prairies, but I had to at least try. I would honestly recommend this trip to anyone – I think it’s important for us as Canadians to see our beautiful nation and the ecological treasures it has to offer. The train is, in my opinion, the ideal way to do it. Nothing is rushed, you can actually see your surroundings rather than just a road, there’s no crazy scanners and pat downs, and you can read or nap or spend some time getting to know your fellow travelers. There are some amazing people on the train. We met Australians, a South African, former railway employees, a former MP, an urban planner from Toronto, students, teachers, and a few retirees.

Safe voyages Tracey! Good luck with the rest of the Tour
